PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER, VOL. 1 No. 3, 22nd September 2006

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Students of the Week ending 15th September 2006 were: Emma McClelland (Play Group), Jared Michoma (Nursery), Lily-Mae Phillips (Reception), Yuri Bonaventure (Y1), Alice Mikuhi (Y2), Jackson Brown (Y3), Reese Wanyonyi (Y4), Richard Sanders (Y5) and Allan Harding (Y6). Well done, those children.

On Tuesday the Under 10 Girls' Rounders team played Aga Khan at home. The score was 11½ to 2½ to Aga Khan. However, their team was much older than ours and they even commented on how young our girls were, so we did extremely well! I would like to congratulate our Under 10 team and look forward to next year when they will be a really formidable force.

On Thursday our Under 11 Boys' Cricket team played Aga Khan at home and the Under 11 Girls' Rounders team played a friendly match with Mombasa Academy at home. I will publish the scores in next week's newsletter.

Next Wednesday is Parents' Evening when you will get a chance to meet and get to know your children's teachers. Please make sure you have returned the reply slips indicating the times you would prefer. Apologies in advance if you don't get the slot you requested. Often teachers get seven or eight requests for the same time and they have to allocate them on a first come, first serve basis. Please bear in mind that these are 10 minute slots and other parents will be waiting. Teachers will, therefore, be at pains not to overrun your time. PARENTS OF BOARDERS may not wish to travel so far for such a short time, in which case, they can make an appointment to meet teachers on Friday 29th September at 3.00 pm when they come to collect their children. This date is for parents of boarders only.

Next Tuesday the Girls' Under11 Rounders team will be playing Shree at home. Please come along and give them your support.

Class assemblies begin next Friday with Year 6 kicking off.

If your child was involved in either of last term's musical productions, "The Knight and the Dragon" or "Higher Waters", Harrison has completed the editing and VCDs of these performances should be available from the office @ Ksh.500. The proceeds go to the drama department.

Have a good weekend!

SECONDARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER, VOL. 1 No. 3, 22nd September 2006

Dear Parents and Guardians,

All secondary students have been issued with a school diary. They record the homework set each day and the date the work is to be handed in. Each weekend the student has to have his/her diary signed by a parent/guardian. The diary is then checked by the Form Tutor on Monday morning to ensure it is completed correctly and signed by an adult. Parents can also use the diary to make comments if they wish. Form Tutors will ensure they read these comments each Monday and act on them if necessary. Subject teachers and Form Tutors use the diaries to pass information or comments about students to the parents.

There have been a number of problems with uniform this term. This has been partly due to our supplier being unable to cope with the demands and partly due to being unable to predict which sizes would be required. A few points of clarification on the uniform for the secondary; black or brown leather sandals with a back strap may be worn, flip-flops and open backed sandals are not allowed. All boys in the secondary should wear a belt on their trousers.

Our sport fixtures have begun this week. I will list the results in next week's newsletter.
