BMIS
Inter-School Hockey Tournament
This event was a great success and we have to thank Mrs. Jennings
and Mr. Gitau for organising it. There were five participating schools:
BMIS, Mombasa Academy. Shree, Aga Khan and Rusinga from Nairobi.
The Girls' Shield went to BMIS and the Boys' Shield went to Mombasa
Academy. Neither of the BMIS teams lost any games but the boys came
3rd after Rusinga on points. Thank you to all the parents who came
and supported.
Hockey

In the U11 boys' hockey match against Shree on Thursday 1st March,
the score was1-1 and Bradley Lionnet was man of the match.
New
U10 Boys' Hockey Fixture
There has been so much enthusiasm from our younger hockey players
that Mr. Gitau is arranging an under 10 boys' hockey match against
Aga Khan on Tuesday 20th March at home. This will start at 3.00
pm and will be an opportunity for our younger players to show what
they can do. Parents will be receiving letters next week.
Athletics
at Aga Khan
Tomorrow there is an athletics meet at Aga Khan (Likoni) in which
some of our children are involved. This starts at 8.00 am and is
estimated to finish at 1.00 pm. We wish all our young contenders
success.
Exam
Week
The Primary Exam week is over but children who were absent for exams
will have to do them when they get back. The teachers will be busy
with marking and reports.
The
Primary School Production
This year we are doing the Rock Musical "RATS!" based
on the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. It involves all the Key
Stage 2 children from Y3-Y6. Now that exam week is over rehearsals
will be stepped up. It is scheduled for Friday 23rd March at 6.00
pm. Our Early Years and Key Stage 1 children will not be left out
as it will be their turn to do the production next term.
Inter-Class
Tombola Race
The winning class will be announced in assembly this morning but
I would like to thank everyone for their kind contributions as this
is a very popular stall.

I mentioned in last week's newsletter, the buses will leave at 3.00

not later than 6.00 pm when the event closes.

Year 6 has been designing beautiful hats during art lessons on Mondays.
The children made the hats by themselves and on Monday they held
a fashion show. Kylie McKenzie came first overall but Mrs. Veronique
was very proud of all the end results and would like to thank Mrs.
Jennings and Mrs. Sassoon for judging the show.
Year

Y6 went to Ngomongo Village to practice their Kiswahili and to see
how things are done in Swahili culture on Tuesday. I would like
to thank Ms. Chege for arranging it and Ms. Watsulu and Mr. Gannaway
for assisting.

Many thanks to Y2 and Mrs. Miranda for their lovely assembly. Next
week we look forward to seeing Y1 on the stage.
