BRAEBURN COLLEGE - NEWS, December 2006

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we come to the end of this busy first term, I would like to draw your attention to some upcoming dates and events:

A2 and IB2 Parents Evening - Wednesday 13th December

This will be held between 4.15 and 6.15pm at the College and is to discuss progress made over this term and suggest strategies for improvement as the students head towards Mock Examinations and the final IB, Cambridge and Edexcel Examinations. It is also an opportunity to discuss the progress of university applications and plans for the future. As so much of this is directly relevant to the student, we advise that students should attend with parents or guardians. Reports for the Term will be issued.

Change in Term Dates for 2nd and 3rd Terms

We have slightly altered the dates for Terms 2 and 3 due to a shift in the dates of the Cambridge examinations. This gives a longer break between the terms. I attach a list of the revised dates.

Cultural Day - Saturday 24th March

This was scheduled for this Saturday (9th December) but we have decided to reschedule it. It will now take place next term and will be on Saturday 24th March. We hope many students and parents will become involved with this so as to make it a varied and entertaining day.

College Production: 'Boeing, Boeing' - 26th to 28th January

The drama club has been working enthusiastically on this lively comedy. We hope you will able to attend one of the shows at Braeburn Little Theatre.

East African Model United Nations - 19th to 23rd February

Our students have been working very hard on this project filling positions as Chairpersons, Ambassadors, and Delegates, as well as on the Executive Committee.

Examinations, Parents Evenings and Reports for Term 2

These vary from course to course. Please see the attached sheet for these important dates.
