PARENTS AND
TEACHERS ASSOCIATION
Braeburn School has an active Parent Teacher Association (PTA),
which organises a number of social and community events for parents
and children. These events have a dual role in fostering a sense
of community within the school and raising money. The money is split
in two with half going to charitable organizations of the PTAs choosing
and half to enhance the facilities of the school.
Every new parent is automatically a member and at the AGM has an
opportunity to stand on the Executive Committee, which meets once
each half term. Other parents can be 'volunteer helpers' who are
contacted to assist with PTA functions during the year.
The PTA has made a very positive contribution to the Braeburn community
during last academic year, especially in strengthening the partnership
between home and school and in seeking to ensure that "Children
First" is a reality and not merely a school motto!
The PTA is always glad of new ideas and new members, wanting to
represent the schools cultural mix. If you are interested in being
an active PTA member, or wish to join the committee, please make
yourself known to the School office!
CHILDREN FOR
CHILDREN
'Children for Children' was initiated by
the PTA, firing the imaginations of Braeburn children to raise money
for those less fortunate than themselves. Through a number of simple,
child-centered, fundraising activities, the children have been encouraged
to see that all children have something to give.
The school's Student Council has been asked to organize this project,
deciding how to raise the money and how it should be spent.
