Braeside Primary School

A message from the Braeburn Group Director of Education, Mr. Rob Williams, on the occasion of Braeside's 10th Anniversary:

On Braeside School's 10th Anniversary, I wish to congratulate all the Braeside Community. Over the ten years of its existence, Braeside has grown from a small 8.4.4 Primary School to an International Primary and Secondary School of great repute.

It is a special International School, a school staffed with highly qualified and enthusiastic Kenyan teachers, an exam centre with one of the largest number of IGCSE candidates in the country.

The school's growth over the ten-year history is due to many factors. Good governance by Mr. Julius Mwangi, the founding Head Teacher, and by his successors, is one of the leading factors. Huge parental support and dedicated teachers are other factors, but most of all the school has developed a character which is self-perpetuating. It is a warm, welcoming, friendly and caring character which allows its members to feel at home. Indeed I remember Maureen Gaya, one of the pioneer Year 11 students describing the school as her 'home away from home'. She still attends the school regularly despite now being a very successful businesswoman.

Braeside students have achieved to their highest abilities. Braeside students have the abilities and staff to cope with adult life after school. Members of the Braeside community are focussed and their focus is Success. And under the guidance of Mr. Jack Kimutai and Miss Gladys Wahinya there is surely more success to follow.

Well done for the last ten years, and good luck for the next ten.
