ABOUT BRAEBURN

Message from the Group Managing Director, Rob Williams:

Braeburn School has been around for over 27 years. Evolving from a small primary school in Nairobi to an international group that offers quality British education to students of all ages, nationalities and religions, Braeburn is a name we are all proud of.

The group includes:

Braeburn School - Our primary school, now 26 years old, is situated in Nairobi's Lavington estate on an extensive and modern campus offering professional, high quality education from Early Years (nursery) to Key Stage 3 (Year 8). This school caters to close to 600 children from 61 different countries.

Braeburn High School - founded in 1982, this is a co-educational international boarding school following the British National Curriculum (University of Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations IGCSE), with boarding options.

Braeburn College - This is a purpose-made 6th-form institution offering GCE AS and A level, International Baccalaureate (IB), National Diploma and University Foundation programs, also with fully-furbished boarding facilities.

Braeburn School, Arusha - Founded in 1994, this is an international co-educational school catering for children from Early Years to A Level from 35 different countries. The Early Years Centre is in the Arusha town, and its Primary and Secondary campus is roughly 12 km from the centre of Arusha.

Braeburn Mombasa International School - In September 2004 Braeburn Limited took over the management of this excellent learning establishment in Shanzu, Mombasa, Kenya's second-largest city. Teaching the British National Curriculum, Braeburn introduced AS and A Level as well as a boarding option to students living in Mombasa.

Braeburn Kisumu International School - In April 2007, Braeburn Schools Limited took over the running of this school situated in Kisumu town, north of the Equator. This school offers a myriad of possibilities of expansion, and Braeburn extends an established support structure and multiple benefits to the students of this school. Braeburn welcomes the Kisumu families into our Braeburn Community!

Braeside School and High School - Early Years, Primary and High School all situated on one campus, the Braeside schools provide quality British education to students largely Kenyan, but including an ever-increasing number of varying nationalities. Braeside boasts its own theatre, and consistently produces of the highest IGCSE scores in the country!

Braeburn Theatre - At the heart of our world, we have a magnificent 400-seat theatre known by all in Nairobi to be the dramatic and artistic centre for the Lavington community. Our Braeburn Club at our primary campus maintains warm and close relations between parents and our teaching staff through social and sporting events, and all our schools' PTAs work hard to ensure that we retain the spirit of charity and assistance to local under-privileged communities.

Our schools are communities and we recognize that each and every individual is important and has a valuable contribution to make towards the quality of life enjoyed by the people within these communities.

We continually stress the importance of honesty, trust, fairness and self-discipline, mutual respect and self-esteem. We endeavour to encourage and praise good behaviour and help all children to appreciate that this is the normal expectation.
