Braeburn Club

Parents and Teachers of our primary and secondary schools (Braeburn and Braeside) are automatically members of our Braeburn Club. Many friends have been made through the Club over the years. Socialising at the Club brings together new families, long-time members, teachers, alumni and administrators of the Schools, and this helps maintain our friendly and supportive community here at Braeburn.

The facilities to enjoy comprise a bar, restaurant and pool table in the Club itself, a coffee shop and an outdoor patio overlooking the school sports grounds. Members of the Club can take advantage of all the school sporting and recreational facilities.

These include:

  • 3 glass-backed Squash courts

  • Tennis

  • Swimming pool

  • Football, rugby and hockey in the sports field.

Membership can be obtained in the following categories:

Ordinary Membership: All parents at Braeburn are ordinary Members. Membership is free and entitles members to use the Braeburn Club Bar, Restaurant and the coffee shop.

Family Swimming Membership: Membership is open to all parents of children at Braeburn Schools. Membership cost is Ksh. 5000 a year.

This entitles members to use the swimming Pool at weekends, school holidays and after 5:00pm in the evenings on school days SUBJECT TO there being no official school function. School function ALWAYS take prioty. A membership card will be issued to each member with a photograph of both parents and member children. Admission to the pool area will be by this card only and pool area admission charge now revised to Sh. 50. If the card is lost, a replacement will be provided on 48 hours notice at a charge of Sh.500.

Family Racquet Sports Membership: Membership is open to all parents of children at Braeburn Schools. Membership cost is Sh. 2000 a year.

This entitles members to use the Squash and Tennis Courts at weekends, school holidyas and after 5:00pm in the evenings on school days SUBJECT TO there being no official school function. School functions ALWAYS take priority. A membership card will be issued to each member with a photograph of both parents and member children. Admission to the courts will only be by this card and payment of charges. If the card is lost, a replacement will be provided on 48hours notice at a charge of Sh. 500.

Full Family Sports Membership: Membership combines all the above membership at a cost of Sh. 6000 a year.

Full External Membership: Membership combines all the above and is open to people not parents of Braebun School completing the ordinary member application procedure and paying the joining fee (currenlty Sh. 12 000pa) and the Annual Subscription (currenlty Sh. 10 000pa).

Temporary Membership: Membership entitles temporary members and their families to use all the facilities during validity of membership.

Membership may be applied for on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The table below indicates pricing:

NB

  • Temporary memberships may be requested only by existing members.

  • Existing members who wish to use facilities to which they are not presently entitled to may apply for temporary memberships to the relevant category, (Or upgrade their membership).

  • The behaviour of Temporary Members is the responsibility of the member who applies for the membership.

  • Temporary membership is not available on demand at the Club Bar or Swimming Pool. Application forms may be obtained from the Club Bar or School Receptions and must be completed and handed in to the club Manager 48 hours in advance of club usage.

General Notes

All charges will be reviewed annually and will be aligned with the Academic Year from September to August.

Members joinning half way through a year will pay 10% of the annual fee for each month or part of the month left.

The membership application form, should be completed and faxed or dropped at the school should you wish to use the pool or the tennis/squash courts.

Please note that we need passport size photos of all members. These photos will be used to create the membership cards and electronically stored for renewal and replacement purposes. Please avail the photos to us in jpeg format by e-mail or on disk. If this is not possible, bring the actual photos and we shall scan them at cost.

A membership fee is collected on an annual basis. Temporary membership is also available on daily, weekly or monthly basis. Full external membership is available to non-parents of our primary and secondary Braeburn or Braeside schools.

Famillies or individuals who do not have children at Braeburn or Braeside Schools may apply to join as members of Braeburn Club.
